EPA 2011 Standards for Biofuel, Diesel, and Other Renewable Fuels

December 3rd, 2010

Are you familiar with the Clean Air Act of 1970? What about the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA)?

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) | Precision Filtration ProductsBetween these two acts, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is required to set production percentage standards for renewable fuels such as biofuel and bio-diesel. The standards are based on the expected availability of fuel for the next year. The EPA recently finalized percentage values for cellulosic, biomass-based diesel, advanced biofuel, and total renewable fuels. These standards apply to all gasoline and diesel produced or imported in year 2011.
